Bollywood takes to Twitter on Republic Day

"On the auspicious occasion of Republic Day, heartfelt wishes to all Indians," was the first message by Amitabh Bachchan. Actress Bipasha Basu also wrote on Twitter, "This Republic day, I want my country to be 'saare jahaan se achchaa' in the true sense! Wish for a peaceful, healthy, literate nation. Happy Republic Day!"

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur posted, "As a child I saw 26th Jan as a holiday. Now I see it as a day of reevaluation of what we could have done and all that needs to be done for the nation."

Another message by Shahrukh Khan: "Great to wake up to the day our Constitution was introduced. Lazy day in bed with son daughter & now to tell them the story of our Republic"
