So, it’s official! Google has announced that it has crossed the 90 million user mark and is getting stronger in the social media landscape. Google CEO Larry Page said, "I am super excited about the growth of Google Plus, which now has 90 million users globally well over double what I announced just three months ago. By building a meaningful relationship with our users through Google Plus we will create amazing experiences across our services".
The social networking website started in June last year and by July (in just one month) gathered a total of 20 million users! However, Facebook, the social networking giant and Google’s major competitor has also taken a leap ahead and now boasts a total of 800 million users. Knowing that the competition is heating up, Facebook is consistently offering innovations like new apps to enhance user experience but Google is also doing the same. Lately, celebrities were spotted who joined the Google Plus bandwagon and users as on Friday could even add the White House to their circles.
Even though Google + has several minuses (as critics have pointed out), the social networking site is garnering enough attention that can keep it in the race. At least for now.
