Edible oil demand in the year 2015 is expected to be 21.3 million tones. Realizing this huge opportunity Jivo wellness- a brain child of Mr RPS Kohli, one of the co-founder and former director in Koutons Retail has entered into this market with revolutionary Canola edible oil.

Why Canola
Only a few of us are aware that similar to HDL Good Cholesterol & LDL Bad Cholesterol; we have Unsaturated Good Fats and Saturated Bad Fats in our coking oils. Jivo Canola Oil has the highest unsaturated good fats and the lowest saturated bad fats; amongst all oils in the world. Next, the Omega-3 : Omega-6 ratio offered by Canola Oil is 1 : 2.5 which is the desired ratio for the human body. Too high consumption of Omega-6 has been linked to the development of heart disease, asthma, cancer, arthritis and depression. Though some Omega-6 is necessary since they comprise essential acids, too much is definitely a problem. Then the phyto-chemicals in Canola help raise immunity and exercise control on many diseases like Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s etc. Canola Oil has zero% Tans Fats.

Global Scenario
Tans Fats have now been banned in many developed countries and in US and Canada, it is a law to even keep snacks and fast food, Trans Fats free. The best part comes last, as per U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Canola oil is now eligible to bear a qualified health claim on its ability to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease(CHD) due to its unsaturated fat content. The claim suggests that eating about 1 1/2 tablespoons (19 grams) of canola oil daily may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease due to the unsaturated fat content in canola oil. To achieve this possible benefit, canola oil is to replace a similar amount of saturated fat.
